Crazy wind gusts wreaked havoc at Fenway Park on Saturday night and even sent announcer Jerry Remy home early with a bump on his head.

According to reports, Remy was struck on the head by a television monitor that blew off a shelf in the NESN booth. Fortunately, it sounds like Remy has avoided a serious injury, but he was still checked by doctors and then sent home to rest.

There was at least one report of a 43-mph wind gust during the first inning as a storm front approached the Boston area. Strong winds continued throughout the early innings, causing chaos for fielders as they attempted to gauge fly balls.

Let’s check in with Red Sox right fielder Michael Martinez to see if he agrees with the fun part.

Yeah, we didn’t think so.

Fortunately, the winds would die down slightly as the game wore on. Unfortunately for Boston, their pitching would not. Minnesota rallied from a three-run deficit to win the game 11-9 and knock the Red Sox to 1 1/2 back in the AL East.
