This guy tried to propose at the Yankees game but he dropped the ring

There aren’t many things in life a man plans more meticulously than proposing marriage. It’s a moment you definitely don’t want to fumble.

Which is why everyone watching Tuesday night’s New York Yankees game against the Boston Red Sox had to feel for 29-year-old Andrew Fox, who dropped to his knee during to the game, planning to propose to his girlfriend Heather Terwilliger, also 29.

Fox opened up the ring box — and he totally dropped the ring. This is how you feel when that happens in front of 35,000 people at the stadium and thousands more on TV.

Here’s the good news: After a search of about five minutes, aided by fans nearby, the ring was found. Fox did it right the second time. Terwilliger said yes. And they have quite a proposal story ‘til death do them part.

“Definitely not the way I planned it out,” Fox later told the YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits in a TV interview. “I thought it was just gonna be a simple kneel down and pop it out and ask her, but it instantly just dropped out. I was so scared I started to cry.”

Added his new fiancé: “I didn’t know what to think. It was all a shock, it came so quickly. I felt really bad. It was good that we found it.”

Congrats to the happy couple — both for winning the treasure hunt and finding true love. But just know the anti-stadium proposal crowd just got its best ammo ever.
